The first training chess tournament of 2026 organized by Chattogram Chess Academy was successfully held from 31 July to 1 August over two days at the Academy’s own campus. Ahmed Arshan Afraz emerged as Champion, while Sajli Abid Sparsha became Runners-up and Tasdid secured the position of 2nd Runner-up.
In the Under-12 category, Aparajita Chakraborty Mukta secured 1st place, while Nazifa Atiya Shahana achieved 2nd place.
The prize-giving ceremony was presided over by the Academy Director and Principal of Willow International School, Sufian Ashraf. The event was conducted by Academy Director and Tournament Arbiter, Md. Nurul Amin.
Speakers included Founder Director and National Instructor Rakib-ul Islam Sachchu, Trainer and Principal of National Maritime Institute Captain Ataur Rahman, Trainer Ahmed Hossain Mazumder, and Guardian Momtaz Uddin Ahmed.
The speakers highlighted that chess plays a vital role in developing intelligence, concentration, analytical ability, and decision-making skills among children. They appreciated such initiatives of the Academy and expressed hope for organizing regular training and tournaments in the future.
